MONOLITH — Compute Without a Horizon

A black monolith in the desert splits the screen open, its seam of light pulsing, sand blowing past and a live token counter ticking.

A one-page site for a made-up AI compute company. The preloader is the monolith's seam: a line of white light grows down the middle of a black screen, then the two halves slide apart onto the photograph, and a live glow is laid exactly over the seam in the picture, with a pulse travelling up it, light spilling onto the sand and grains blowing across the frame. Live figures tick in a glass panel (tokens served, latency with a sparkline). Below come a terminal that types an API call and streams the answer, a data-centre hall you walk down as you scroll while the counters run, an energy section with animated bars, and three pricing tiers. One HTML file with four generated photographs; GSAP and ScrollTrigger from a CDN.

How to run this

Nothing to install and nothing to configure. Works in any modern browser on Windows, macOS and Linux.

Built with
Single HTML file
Requires
A modern browser
  1. 1. Unzip the download.
  2. 2. Double-click index.html. It opens in your browser and runs. To serve it instead (some browsers want a server), run npx serve . in the folder and open http://localhost:3000.

Note — GSAP and ScrollTrigger load from the cdnjs CDN and the typefaces from Google Fonts, so the first load needs an internet connection. The photographs are in the assets folder beside index.html; keep the two together. Upload index.html and assets/ to any static host and it is live.
